Saturday tips: Pic D'orhy fancied to upstage Jonbon and claim Ascot Chase three-peat in Berkshire

Host Kate Tracey is joined by Declan Rix and Sam Boswell on Weekend Winners to look forward to Ascot on Saturday, which is live on Your Site Racing.

The Grade 1 Ascot Chase (3.35pm) takes centre stage, with Pic D'orhy looking to become the first horse to win this in race three consecutive years. He takes on twelve-time Grade One winner Jonbon in what looks a fascinating tussle.

Likeable veteran Edwardstone and the Moore-trained Blow Your Wad will be looking to outrun double-figure prices, with Classic Maestro and Heltenham completing the sextet.

"I'm siding with Pic D'orhy over Jonbon in this renewal as you know me, I like to take on the favourite in these sorts of races. It's just at the prices you get more value in the so-called two-runner race in my opinion. He was dominant in this last year and this race round Ascot, at this trip, is his jam.

"I feel the horses outside Jonbon and Pic D'orhy are pot hunting really, and I can get a decent price here today. His last run looked to be poor but maybe his prior run at Wetherby took more out of him and he has been freshened up since."

"Pic D'orhy is a year older and I expect him to beat Jonbon here after his tough race in the Clarence House at Ascot. The race fell apart for Jonbon and it landed in his lap, and he had no choice but win. It is quite a quick turnaround and that's my worry.

"The course and distance wonder-horse is a much better price and comes into this fresh too. I think he could dictate on the front end and get his own way. I think Harry Cobden will get him in a nice rhythm and he will be difficult to pass on ground that maybe could be tricky to close on.

"The prices show he's already won this and that is my only worry. Jonbon has been a legend in the two-mile division for years and this step up in trip that I think will suit him. He won at Ascot last time out in the Clarence House when his stamina kicked in to get the better of Thistle Ask.

"I'm not convinced his main rival Pic D'orhy will enjoy the ground in his quest for a third win in the race and I'm hoping Jonbon can gain his thirteenth Grade One win in what has been an amazing career."
